Chocolate Covered Rocks

The chocolate covered rock. When seen for the first time it looks delicious. Children will flock to this rock, adults will be intrigued by it, and teenagers will talk about it on social media. It may become viral on the internet. Yet when the chocolate is eaten or melted off, the rock is just a rock to them. The children may play with it, the teenagers will walk away, and the parents will ignore it. The media coverage will disappear. All this because they do not know the capabilities of the rock. That rock could be used to build something amazing, could mark a path to greatness, could be a place to rest, or it could be the flag stone for a great world. But, because the rock is not covered in sweetness it is cast aside.

We find that Christianity can be like the chocolate covered rock. While the initial look at Christianity is sweet and easy, later when you dive in you realize it is hard and a heavy burden. It takes a special person to realize that it can be a strong cornerstone in your life, a foundation to greatness. The lifting of this rock can make your stronger, and the best part about it is that you don’t have to do it alone.
