Egg Timer Christian

Are you an Egg-timer Christian? When you plan out your week, do you set only a few hours a week aside for God? Do you walk into a church and twist your egg-timer and tell the pastor that they only have so long before you leave? Why have we become this way? Christians are infamous for complaining, or groaning when communion is offered, or when there is a special service or singing due to the additional time that they need to be there. Christians would rather go and spend hours in front of a TV, or spend hours in the sun, than sit in a church and worship the Almighty. I have seen churches diminish in numbers due to an additional 15 minutes, or congregations complain because their pastor got on fire for God and went a few minutes past noon. I mourn for churches who would rather limit their pastors, than let them proclaim the Gospel. Maybe we should not try to change the worship services, but change the hearts of the people. Maybe we should not be Egg-Timers and be Christians.
