Why not both?

The old saying goes “give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, you feed him for a life time.” My question is why not both?

Christians today like to shy away from benevolence funds and aim towards job fairs or rehabilitation. I look at both of these saying and say why not do both? When you give a fish and teach the man to fish you not only provide for his needs in the future, but his present needs as well. While teaching or training or rehabilitating, the problem in their mind is still “what about right now?” The man or woman may have a family to supply for that even though they may be able to supply for them soon the right now is the issue.

I implore you to am for both present and future needs of humanity. Stop thinking drugs are in everyone’s mind and start realizing that food is a necessity of life.
