A Student Pastor’s Heart

These past few months have been amazing. I have graduated with my degree, spent time with people who have meant the world to me, prepared for my upcoming wedding, and got to play paintball with members of my youth group and of my previous youth group. I got to spend time with young men and women who I have had the pleasure of living life with and seeing how they have grown as a disciple of Christ and I have honestly been so blessed by them.

A Student Pastor’s Heart is the love that God has given them. The part that is an amazing thing is that Student Pastor’s have the opportunity to give pieces of their heart away to so many students through loving them, spending time with them, praying for them, teaching them, being there for them and helping them know who Christ is. This person who holds this role is not just another adult in the life of the child, they are not a replacement parent, they are ultimately that best friend who would have nothing but to see you succeed in life.

It is a tiring job that amounts to so much love being poured out of the Student Pastor that they are sometimes left exhausted but never empty. You see as a Student Pastor passes on pieces of his heart to the students God replenished the heart with more love. God builds Student Pastors up constantly simply for they are constantly pouring our as much as they can.

I am so proud of the kids that I have had the chance to serve as their pastor. Knowing that they are graduating or have graduated from high school, seeing them go after their callings with such a passion and knowing that they are pursuing God in everything they are doing. It is like watching a flower bloom on the first day of spring and seeing the amazing colors that appear.
